That pout disappeared and turned into a smile though when he offered her flowers. "Thanks," she said as she took the flowers from him. Looking at the flowers, happiness overtook her and she couldn't help herself. She hugged him with her free arm as she gave him a kiss. Official or not, in her mind she was his girlfriend now.

Carter kissed her back. Soon enough he'd be calling Marie his. And that thought was just so exciting to him. He looked at her. She looked so beautiful holding those flowers. It was like a dream.
