After all, she had her surname after this place.
"Yes, you are by far too beautiful to be killed," Adam nodded a few times. But he had no hesitation in agreeing with her, it was very true. She was the prettiest girl he knew, and that was 'nough said. Just like he was too handsome to die, but he wasn't going to say that. She'd probably call him bigheaded, and go off in a huff. And he didn't want that to happen. Not at all.
Yes, twenty it was, and by that time Lori was hopefully going to have forgotten about it all. So it'd be more like.... twenty-seven. Or eight. Depending on when Adam could be bothered going car shopping. Instead of arguing, though, he just nodded, and took his turn to poke his tongue out.
So this was what SatNav lady said, and Adam reached over his free hand to shut her off. Then he shoved the keys into his pocket and clicked his seatbelt. "You don't have to do this, you know," he muttered softly. "It's not too late to turn back...."
Lori was way too taken in by the place outside of the car, to even hear what he had said, or to see him stick his tongue out at her twice. She didn't want to be back here, although she hadn't been here since she had found out she was a witch on her fifteenth birthday and demanded to be taken to the place where she had been found. This place ... well it just held some horrible memories. Some of which she couldn't remember seeing as she had been a newborn.
After the car had came to a stop, Lori just stared up at the ... house. If you could call it anything like that. It was a mess. Rubbish piled up outside, no doubt some of it months old. And by what she was expecting, it was probably home to other kids, considering there were kids toys strewn all over the path.
Adam's voice broke through her assessment of the place, and she looked over at him and shook her head.
"I have to ... I mean, if I dont, i'll always wonder what it was like.. What she was like.."
