Professor Rae looked up from her parchment as the students made their way to their seats. Once they were settled, she rose and came around the desk, her quill temporarily tucked behind her ear and a small smudge of ink on her cheek.
"I"m going to go ahead and get started. I hope none of your housemates arrive late. I'll be forced to penalize them. Now... let's get right down to it. We're going to have a very brief introduction to Defense Against the Dark Arts. I'd hate to hold you over, because it is a glorious day out. Who can tell me what defines magic as 'Dark?'"
