"Sorry, I'm coming!" said Vianna, giving a brief apologetic smile before getting up to her feet once she was sure Costa wasn't dead or anything.

"Quit playing around with the house-elf, Vi, I want cake!" whined Vince from somewhere inside the dining room.

"I wasn't 'playing around'!" said Vianna, brows furrowed disapprovingly as her gaze fell upon her older brother. Very typical of Vince and Vianna to waste no time in getting into the silliest of arguments.

"Oh, don't you two start now!" came Mrs. Vincenzi's voice, throwing a warning look at her younger son and daughter. "Today is Ferris's birthday and the least you two could do is show a little respect and get along," she added before returning her attention to the boy who all of this had been set up for in the first place. "Are you alright, dear? I hope we didn't startle you," she said, obviously not aware that Vianna had forewarned Ferris about this 'surprise' party before getting here. "Come, come closer so you can blow the candles while we sing you happy birthday! Vittorio, have you got the camera?"

Vince snickered. "Oh Mum, that's so embarrassing... he's not turning five, c'mon," he said, though he was obviously quite enjoying all this attention the group was giving Ferris, as he knew attention wasn't something Ferris was too crazy about. Vianna merely gave Ferris a small apologetic smile, well-aware that all of this was something the boy clearly didn't want in the first place, but... Mr. and Mrs. Vincenzi were a little difficult to argue with once they'd made-up their minds.
