Marie was having a great time flying with Carter when Professor Mrs. Lawson said class was over. She was not ready for class to end because that meant she wouldn't have an excuse to hold on to Carter....Even though she knew it was wrong.

"Yeah I guess we are," she said with a bit of sadness back in her voice. She continued to hang on to him right up until it was time to get off the thestral. The truth was she really didn't want to let go of him yet. She was so confused right now. Her heart was with Evan and she was missing him greatly yet she was really enjoying the time she was spending with Carter. Why did things have to get so complicated?
