He could understand why Antigone was still upset about it; he didn't blame her. And it was the very least to say, that some of the points Pandora had brought up concerned him.
But first things were first, and he reached down to slowly fold the paper napkin into a flimsy oragami crane. "I believe, she has a lot more emotion than many peoople give her credit for. Including you." Pandora watched Torio's expression as she spoke and when he took the time to fold a crane from his napkin, a small smile tugged at the corners of her mouth but it was flattened by his response. "I realise that she must have been hurt. On our first proper date, Ronan got a letter from her. The owl bit him, hard enough to draw blood. He didn't tell me then but that letter was from Antigone. She had found out that we were dating, somehow, she was abroad. I got the feeling when we spoke that it was my friend Dora who contacted her. She never liked Ronan. She umm... She died recently..." Pandora pressed her napkin to her lips in an effort not to cry, "And I think that was why Antigone lied to me when I asked her if it was Dora who contacted her. So that my memory of Dora wasn't sullied by it or something..." She took a moment to compose herself. "I know who Dora was and the things that she was capable of and likely to do. Contacting Antigone is exactly the kind of thing that she would do. It's the only thing that makes sense. Do you think that Antigone would do that? Lie to me so that my friend doesn't look bad?"
She looked at him. She just needed to know the answer. It was the reason why she had acted so irrationally with Antigone. "To be honest I think she and I are quite similar, I used to be very reserved in my approach to others. It's only since I met Ronan that I've started to change a little." The conversation they were having could not have been conceivable before she met Ronan. She was a reformed ice-queen.
