This was his place of refuge because of one thing - coffee. According to the rules of Rex Vindictus, work didn't officially begin until he had his first cup of coffee at the office. Too bad the employees on his level didn't know that. But chaos in the work areas enabled him to slip away and he needed a good cup of joe before making any decisions.
Grabbing a clean coffee cup, he placed it under the tap of the never-ending percolator and pulled it forward. He pushed the tap backwards when it was a quarter of an inch from the top.
AHHHHH!
The aroma of the freshly brewed coffee brought a rare smile to the man's handsome face and he proceeded to add his customary one sugar and one cream to his coffee before stirring it with the stirrer.
Closing his eyes, he inhaled the hot beverage before taking a sip. All I need is a few minutes alone with my coffee, he mused as he leaned against the counter.
