Allan had been only half listening to the headmaster, and half in his own little world. Sure, the arrival of the new students from that Swiss school was interesting and all, but the rules were nothing he didn’t already know. What to do, how to behave, treat everyone with respect… Yeah, yeah. He sighed and rested his head on his hand, laughing lightly at the back and forth between Torio and Adrian, who were seated at the table with him. “He’s got a point, Adrian.” Allan said lightly, looking at the boy with a sleepy-bored look. “Perhaps a book of you’re ever boring years of speeches would make for a good read… Not that I’d pick it up.” He gave a half smile as the students began applauding.

He looked up, slowly clapping for the new arrivals. He wasn’t about to judge any of them just yet, not until he’d at least spoken to a few. Most of them looked like they’d just walked into a fairytale. But one girl in particular looked right at home. Her eyes were scanning the room critically, but the light smirk on her lips seemed pleased. “I wonder how Liss and her crew of judgmental followers are going to react to these new additions.” He mused to the other two. “Personally, I think we could do with a bit of a change around here. Shake things up a little…”

Allan sighed lightly looking them over. Some of them were very under dressed for arriving to a new, and from what he’d heard much better, school. Jeans? Honestly? Oh dear, Liss was having a fit indeed. Maybe it was just the model in him picking their clothing apart. After all, not everyone got the good designer garb for free. Not wanting to feel like he was rushing to conclusions too quickly, Allan busied himself with a stain on the table cloth. The elves hadn’t done a very good job washing them this year…

Lauren walked into the banquet hall with a feeling of belonging. Sure, this wasn’t her school… Yet. But this was much closer to home then she was used to every year. Everything was clean, and decorated excellently. The students were dressed well, hair done and make-up applied. Yes, this would do nicely for now. If her father had anything to do with the rebuilding of her pervious school, it would surpass the grandeur of this one.

Her blue-green eyes looked over every detail of the room, and it’s inhabitance. Oh yes, she was home at last. Finally, people who knew how to DRESS themselves. She smoothed out the fabric of her designer skirt as she walked through the tables, looking for someone who looked as close to her kind as possible. Tossing her long, purpley-blue hair over her shoulder, she approached a table with a pretty brunette with gray eyes, and a boy with blonde hair. Both seemed upper class, like her.

Flashing a smile at the girl, Lauren lay a perfectly manicured hand on the back of an empty chair. “Hate to be a bother,” She said, trying as hard as she could not to act like the ‘princess’ she was. “But do you mind if I sit here?” Her eyes scanned the girl first, then the boy, tapping a high healed Guess shoe on the marble flooring as she waited for a reply.

Good lord, she hated acting like the brat she was raised to be.

Looking over her shoulder, she spotted a boy with a violin case before him. Oh good! A fellow musician. Not to self, get to know him. She flashed a smile and turned back to the two before her. “Well?”
