Evelyn walked down Main Street alone, her head down and her hands shoved in the pockets of her green coat to keep them warm.

She hadn't been able to find anyone to come with. Everyone she asked was either too busy with homework or was doing something with friends their own age or in their own house. So Evelyn just trudged along, trying to enjoy the scenic village.
