Oh god. He didn't want to to happen like this. He knew he needed to tell her, in some respects, he
wanted to tell her. But now... well, now the words wouldn't come. Not the right words anyway. Lifting his head, he looked directly into Loris eyes and saw that she looked just as confused as he felt.
Which, if anything, made him feel even worse. Even more guilty. Even angrier at himself.

"Because I ain't got no friend, ok Lori?" Adam gasped through clenched teeth. It was if the words were forced out of him, and the wrong ones at that.
"Because I feel so bloody stupid, and angry, and confused. That's why I'm sorry. Ok?"
