Former Job: Worked in the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, predominantly with larger creatures such as Abraxans, Trolls, and Dragons. Also had a second job as a bouncer for several years.

Personality: Generally laid-back and at ease in his work-sphere, Oliver can be found conversing with creatures he's examining (including bugs) or singing and dancing to his favourite music. He's better at talking with distraught children than their adult counterparts. He has a habit of mentally adopting the animals he works with. If, at the end of a case, that animal remains unclaimed, he will attempt to adopt it fully. Generally fine with other human beings, but can be known to get annoyed when people don't say what they mean. Hates having to guess what someone wants him to say.

Brief Background: Oldest child of Frederick de Winter; his mother is unknown. She left when he was three and cast a confundus charm on his father, so the man has no idea who she is either. Oliver remembers glimpses, but nothing truly tangible. His father poured all of his energy into his work with dragons, leaving Oliver to play nursemaid to his younger sister. Oliver attended Hogwarts and was sorted into Hufflepuff, spending his time there loving Care of Magical Creatures and teaching would-be bullies to leave well enough alone. He followed his father's footsteps into dragon control, but then realized he'd rather work with magical creatures in general. After a decade in the Ministry he moved to BMI to both lend his knowledge and make sure the creatures implicated get properly managed.
