Ivory looked around at the effects of the aftermath. Everyone seemed to be alright now at least thanks to the boy who Sabel seemed to call Raiden. Raiden, even thinking his name made her wince.
Growing up in a family full of boys, little brothers as it happened had not made her protective character any less potent. She had to admit she had acted rather brusquely rambling about spells she had never even tried, much less preformed.
Her gaze was one of awe as she saw him conjure bandages and bind Arya's wrist and to even help Sabel up. As it was she was extremely happy that no one had shed any blood. That had always been the point of no return for her. Even thinking about it now made her feel queasy. Blood. She shook her head to clear it of the nasty thought.
Her gaze turned to Arya and she gave her a hesitant smile. "It's a good thing you're okay. I have a really big fear of hospitals and can imagine how you feel. Although I imagine it's that's much better because of Raiden" she said ruefully casting him an abashed smile."..and Allison of course." Shooting a genuine smile in her direction. It was just the sort of thing for her to do to cheer every one up.
As she dwelled on her unexcused rudeness, she felt herself begin to blush for the umpteenth time that day. This time she couldn't quite put a cap on her emotions and stopper the feeling before she felt her scalp tingle as it always did right before it began to change color. Thankfully, it was quite dim lighting so no one notice.
With her left hand clutching her side where someone's elbow or knee or some pointy part of their anatomy had dug into her kidney, she rose to her feet. She knew that the odds were she'd have a killer bruise there but no damage, at least no serious damage.
Trying to stay in the shadows, she called out to Raiden. "Hey, Raiden, right? Listen," she rushed on before she started stammering the way she usually did."I'm sorry. I just...well, I have three little brothers and my dad's a healer and I have a bit of an overprotective side it seems. But," she finally lifted her eyes toward him. "That's no excuse for my behavior. I just, well thank you." Deep breath. "I didn't even know how to pronounce those spells or use them, and I don't think I could've if there was blood. In fact I probably would've.." she trailed off.
It was at this point that she realized that she was rambling and he probably saw her as a silly hypocritical first year.She stifled a groan, barely her first week here and so much for finally fitting in and making new friends with good friendly first expressions. At least everyone was okay. |
