"In other words, I'm a new addition to the staff. I'm guessing you are, too?" If Maidee hadn't known that Gabriella was new, chances are that meant she, too, was a new addition.
Maidee nodded, "Yes, I came in a couple weeks ago to set up my office. I just love being in the tower. I can look right out my window and see the sky. Perfect for gazing when it's too cold to be outside." She giggled then gave her new colleague a weird look, "Do you always eat with spoons?"

She was as EXCITED as a pig in mud.
Oh goodness! Someone else excited to be here at Hogwarts! Maidee glanced down at the woman who was older than she was certainly acting! She got a glimpse at the future, though Maidee was no diviner she could certainly see herself like this old woman when she was older.
After Gabriella introduced herself, Maidee spoke up, "and I am Maidee McFarlane, and I must say, I certainly am glad I am not the only one unable to contain my excitement on this day!"
