"Maybe he's just... excited, Neptune," he mumbled. Or really embarrassed that Neptune's being grabby and stuff. Which was the correct answer, most likely. Benjamin jumped in his seat, not enough to be noticed. He turned to look at the girl, and grinned sheepishly. "Erm. Yes. I am quite...fine. Dandy."
Should he mention how she touched him before? He wanted to know why she'd done it, the odd girl, but he wasn't exactly sure if he should bring it up. By the looks of her, it seemed she did that sort of stuff all the time. He wasn't sure whether he should be refreshed by her confidence in herself, or scared. Very pretty plates. Quote:

What was his name again? Never mind, and some other girl. He looked pretty uncomfortable around them. HA! Cartwright, uncomfortable. That's just made my day.
Then 'Cartwright' turned round. Whoa ... That is not Cartwright. Wow. It's ... It's ... He's cuter than Cartwright. What are you saying?!
What? I'm not allowed to say some one is nice looking? What about Aaron?
What about him? We're not technically going out. Sure your not.
We aren't! Neither him, nor me, have ever asked the other out. Still, don't go having those thoughts.
Why not? They aren't hurting anyone. Yet.
Seeing as though none of her friends were around yet, she made her way over to the boy... He was new, but he looked too old to be a first year. Iris smiled at him as she sat opposite him. For a moment, she forgot that she was wearing make up, and she forgot that Cartwright thought she was going out with Aaron; this guy's eyes were amazing. "Hi there, I'm Iris." She said simply, with a small smile.
A distraction. Thank god.
Benjamin turned away from the couple to look at the newcomer in front of him, which, just his luck, happened to be another girl.
He quickly did the math in his head. Patty, the three girls in the compartment, the one who appeared behind him, the two beside me and this one in front of me.
That's two boys and five girls.
What am I some sort of girl-magnet?
Oh wait, that sounds obnoxious.
Benjamin could already feel the jitters of being near a girl coming back from the one second they were gone. *sigh*
She was really pretty though. Which made it worse. So, so much worse.
Agh! She was smiling at him. Oh geesh. He had just gotten out of two girl situations and now there was this pretty blonde girl introducing herself. Iris. He wouldn't forget it. He only hoped he would meet more boys MEN soon. Yes, men. Manly-ness. Grr. He had manliness, girls didn't scare him. *flex flex* He was strong. RAWR.
And in this newfound confidence he managed, "Hello, Iris. I'm Benjamin. Third year. I love your hair." Grin, grin. Smile, smile. RAWR.
Maybe the hair thing was a bit much, but it sorta slipped out.
He loved blonde. Which did sometimes make him a tad conceited but no so much. Rarely. He was much too nervous around girls to be conceited about his looks. If he really was that good looking girls would be all over him despite his nervousness.
Of course the girls back home weren't like that, though. Like some sort of unspoken code, they never acted upon any feelings they might've had for a boy. So that didn't really count. So then that means the girls here would have been all over him, if he was that attractive. And that wasn't happening. Was it?
Perhaps it's too early to tell...
...But maybe this is where it started. With this girl.
Okay, NOW he was scared.
