And now his vision was beginning to flicker on the corners of his eye! What sort of monstruous fate - oh, it was a girl. Waving at him? Well, he certainly wasn't used to that sort of greeting. Actually, he was often the one to greet, wasn't he? Chaucer sat and waffled for a moment over whether to ignore her, and thereby increase his pomp with the others, or go sit and silence his mind of its incessant brooding.
The latter seemed appropriate enough and he was intrigued that a girl would engage him first. He moved down to the girl and held out a gloved hand in greeting:
"Chaucer Ipswich, fourth year transfer." He stopped to collect himself.
"The gloves aren't offensive are they? It's not that I don't want to touch you or such... not that I want to touch you as that would be deviant. Ah me, I'm a little muddled at present. I simply adore gloves. Your name?"
AHH! He couldn't have tripped over the words anymore than possible! Surely the worst sort of impression!

He looked over and saw Kate had arrived. Kate! He had completely forgotten about his muse! But he couldn't simply leave the current company until proper dismissals were performed.
Instead, Chaucer waved her over to join him.
