Arya nervously walked up to the stool holding the sorting hat. Her heart was pounding so fast she thought everyone in the great hall could hear it. This is what she had been waiting for. Once she got off the train she could hardly sit still and the boats were going so slow across the lake she wanted to jump out and swim the rest of the way to shore. But now that she was finally here, she wished to be anywhere but here.

As she sat down the sorting hat was placed upon her head, nearly covering her face. She griped the stool with sweaty palms, crossing her legs nervously.

Hmm, another Lovegoods....haven't had one in a while. But what house to put you in....I see some bravery, good heart...very good at heart. Smart but Ravenclaw wouldn't suit you, no not at all. Slytherin, no no no! That won't do....hmmm, I see a good amount of loyalty.

Arya listened as her curiosity grew and she became less nervious. She breathed a sigh of relief when the hat decided against Slytherin, and she knew not Ravenclaw. So it was down to Griffindor or Hufflepuff....which will he choose. She gripped the stool harder as the hat decided what house to sort her in.

Hmmm.....Ah! Its all to clear now. You belong in Hufflepuff!

Suddenly an uproar of cheers and applause came from the Hufflepuff house table as the sorting hat shouted what house Arya was in.

As the hat screamed her sorting she breathed a sigh of relief. Feeling the hat pulled from her head she hoped of the stool and ran toward the table that had given her so much applause. As she arived at the table she was meet by many welcoming congratulations.
