"I understand that you want to acquaint yourself with your father because he'll be someone who'll understand what you're going through ...but what it something happens, Rafe? Huh?" Marilyn felt panic rising in her voice. She tried to fight it, but the thought of losing him permanently was scaring her. "You said if we were ever meant to be together, id need to know about this...You've told me and now you're going off to get yourself killed." Her hands came up to play with the ends of her blonde curls. "What was the use if you aren't coming back to me?"

"Maybe you shouldn't care about me so much," Rafe said sadly. The words stung him like a pin prick through the heart. He wanted nothing more than her to care for he, to want to be with him, but he accepted it and he just needed to get away from everything that reminded him of her.

"I needed you to know, otherwise everything about me would be a lie," Rafe sighed. How could he make her understand?

"It's not about going off and getting killed. It's about reconnecting with a part of who I am," Rafe watched as she twirled the tips of her blonde hair. "I will come back I promise, I have everything worked out and an easy escape route just in case. Plus, Romania doesn't have restrictions on underage wizardry, like most countries." Rafe ruffled his hair and sweeped it to the side. "I know Romania is known for it's known for its werewolf clans fighting over territory, but I don't think they'll harm me. The tricky part is actually meeting their leader, Raol." Rafe stopped himself, he was getting into too much detail and this would just worry Marilyn even more. He just needed to distract her.

"Plus, Kat will be with me," Rafe said as he slumped down in the seat. "I promised her I would help her with a little mission. And she promised me if things got really bad that she would leave, no questions asked." Rafe couldn't look at Marilyn in the eye. He couldn't bare to look at her reaction.

A part of him wished she was the one that accompanied him. To share the moment of being reconnected with a part of his family, but at the same time he feared for her safety just as much as he did for Kat.
