Ack! Must. Contain. Emotion.
Gripping his signature duffel bag tighter, he slid into an empty compartment and sat down forcefully so that the impact made a poofing sound. Sigh. The train was going too fast for his liking, and the thought of going back home for good wasn't exactly appealing. On the bright (eh?) side, he would still have Sabrina, and they would talk about their stories back in Hogwarts.
As he lifted his feet up on the seat and waited for the others to enter the compartment, a part of him was telling him that it wasn't going to be that bad leaving Hogwarts and all. There would always be better things for him, and Hogwarts was just a stepping stone. And he believed that the memories he had would never really go away, and he would never really forget the people he had met because Hogwarts was the only school he ever went to for so long, and one never forgot special things like that.
Ooohkay, so any more insights like that and Samson would freak himself out.
With another sigh, he closed his eyes and folded his arms across his chest, waiting... for anything. Samson was supposed to have waited! Issy knew better than to whine, but with her emotions currently so strained, she couldn’t help but whine inside her head. Everyone was leaving her and she would be returning her practically alone and it made her feel really sad. Trying to imagine Hogwarts without Samson or Willow was very hard. Heck. Hogwarts without Juni had been nearly impossible, except that Issy had Samson and Willow to help her cope.
And now, she had none of them.
Ag. She knew better than to get herself so worked up.
As she hiked her messenger bag on her shoulders, readjusted the strap that went from one shoulder to the other, she smoothed her skirt and tugged out the wrinkles, as if this would tidy more than just her skirt; maybe it would apply to her cluttered mind and her turmoiled chest and her messy emotions. A deep breath was meant to be cleansing but only ended up making her feel dizzy, so instead, Issy reached her hands into the deep pockets of her adorned cloak to pet the heads of Pepe le Stinky and Flower.
To be honest, she wanted to see Willow off, too. But, as she’d felt the night before at dinner, she assumed that Willow was probably not in the mood for any of sentimental moments. She had all summer with Samson, though. Willow… Issy’s throat constricted. Whenever she would next see Willow was unknown to her.
Taking a deep breath, she opened the compartment Samson waited in, trying very, very hard to appear peaceful and happy and not at all upset or feeling sad and disappointed by the end that this stupid train ride brought. |
