| Atypical Ravenclaw Bookworm // Hair Flipper Pro / / the edgy starbuckian // Hot Messie There is no reason to have my potion suffer, if a boy doesn't have the guts to work with me. Yes, the lack of partner was starting to annoy the young 'claw, but seriously, she wasn't going to fail an assignment by just waiting. Glancing at her notebook, Mina measured out the needed lovage pollen and pulled the lovage seeds from her supplies. SPOILER!!: Mina's Notebook Quote:
Copied into Mina's workbook and notebook STANDARD CLASS XX POTION BASE
STEP ONE:
Purified water, 4 ounces
Fluxweed, two bunches- finely crushed
Lovage pollen - 2 drams
3 lovage seeds, whole
Bloodroot, 3 roots- split lengthwise, scrape inner membrane out
Apple cider, 8 ounces
Lionfish heart, minced
Griffin dandruff, 1 dram Warm water until just before boiling. Crush fluxweed with mortar and pestle, add to water. Allow to come to a brisk boil. Add lovage pollen, stir until dissolved. Potion should take on a light golden colour. Stir slowly, alternating clockwise and counterclockwise stirs
bring potion back up to a boil and allow to simmer 5 minutes
Add inner membrane ONLY of bloodroots; do NOT include the tough outer membrane of the root!!! Add apple cider and lionfish heart; potion should take on an iridescent sheen and a light pink to purple cast Add griffin dandruff and simmer until your potion takes on a deep pink to red sheen.
DO NOT GO FORWARD, wait for further instructions.
Adding the needed lovage, she looked into her cauldron and checked the color. It was slowly turning the light golden colour, which did make her smile. Who needs a boy to do something, I'm quite capable of doing myself. Looking carefully at the contents of the cauldron, she slowly stirred the potion, alternating the directions as directed.
Seeing that it was beginning to boil, she turned her attention preparing her bloodroots. She had five minutes, so she intently worked on separating the outer and inner membrane of the bloodroot. Carefully, she split the roots and scraped out just what she needed. Taking a quick peek at the time, she realized it was about time to added the bloodroots. But did have time to get her next two ingredients ready. Carefully, she poured out the needed apple cider and minced the lionfish heart, setting it aside for the moment.
The five minutes needed had finally passed and she added the bloodroots after carefully assuring it was just the inner membrane. The potion appeared to be correct to her, so she proceded as per the direction. Adding the apple cider and then her minced lionfish heart, she again peered into the cauldron to check the colour. The iridescent sheen was progressing toward the light pink now. It was only a matter of seconds before it took on the purple cast.
She only needed to add the griffin dandruff and wait for the colour change. She was doing quite well by herself, but she did still feel troubled over what she would do at the end without a partner. She could always worry about that later, right?
Oh yes, it was that perfect purple cast now. She added the level dram of the griffin dandruff and watched the purple go to deep pink. Now, it was just a waiting game for it to simmer and change to the needed red. That wasn't hard at all. |
