Hogwarts RPG Name:
Former Professor Valon Kazimeriz
Graduated
Default
Kool-Aid, Oh Yeah! | | SS Mischief Maker

Professor Kazimeriz shuffled about the classroom, observing the students as they worked. He reflected that perhaps he should have made less of the parchments affect the memory, as it made the assignment harder for the students. On second thought, it was better that they learn how to brew while incapacitated... usually when one is creating an antidote, one is doing it not as a lark but because one HAS been poisoned, and learning to brew quickly and despite disability was a good skill to acquire in the relative safety of a classroom setting.

"Powdered moonstone would be far more effective." Kazimeriz answered the boy. "Moonstone is an ingredient which can restore emotional balance."

"Good advice-- do not let the potion's affect overpower you, whether it is a physical, mental or emotional impairment, you must remain focused on the goal if you are to succeed. Remember, when brewing an antidote to save a life, you have no room for failure." Kazimeriz smirked at his students.

Delana wondered, just finishing up with her potion and looking up to the professor. Maybe she was wrong about this, but just in case she was right, she'd have the counter-potion done and ready.
Kazimeriz glanced at the young girl, raising an eyebrow. "Move along, now, time to check your parchment. Use the sperevelio charm." he encouraged.

"Ashwinder eggs would help with my heat flashes and cold sweats, bubotuber will help the itching, but some Abyssinian shrivelfig would stop the swelling. I don't know." She was starting to get worst. "I feel like I'm on fire now and I'm so blue," she cried. "We really need to figure this out."

So much for not crying
"Good thinking... try pre-soaking the shrivelfig in a tincture of water and undiluted stinksap before you add it to your potion; it will make it more effective." he recommended with an encouraging nod.

Sticking a finger in it, she noticed how cold the stuff was, and that it also had the consistency of yogurt. 'Guess it's not that bad.' she thought, giggling again, before spreading the stuff on the burn. "Okay, okay. I'll use moonstone." Evelyn spoke, hearing Destiny repeat that she should use that instead of the Glumbumglumblebumble *Laugh* stuff. "Do you have any?"
"There is powdered moonstone in a jar on the shelves, please help yourselves to some..." Kazimeriz directed the girl with a nod.

"Excellent work; now do a sperevelio charm to reveal the contents of your parchment's potion and make sure you chose the correct ingredients for an antidote." Kazimeriz asked.

Kazimeriz smirked as he watched the girl basically losing her temper; she obviously had an emotional reaction to the potion and fortunately, she was going down the right path by choosing moonstone. Hopefully she wouldn't act out in her rage and tip over her cauldron or anything like that... pretty soon she would start to fall ill, after all, if she did not have an antidote ready soon.

What was I doing again...? Oh!

She looked at Destiny and sighed. I think that rat spleen would be a better choice. Leeches are tricky little buggers and Im already irritated. She busied herself with crushing the fangs and grinding the moonstone into a fine powder...Okay...as far as the poison goes, im thinking maybe essence of murtlap mixed with snake venom...Snake venom should be a good substance to eat away the poison with the murtlap essence to balance out any harmful effects the venom might have on the body. Also, maybe the murtlap could soothe the itching...

She turned to the cauldron and checked to make sure everything was as the directions indicated. So ar, so good.
Kazimeriz nodded with approval as the student brewed. "You are doing well; hurry now, for time grows short."

He dumped the contents into the cauldron and then found the instructions on a piece of parchment on the table. He was boiling now, and a small change to the flame size would bring it down to a simmer. But what was this about a mystery ingredient?

Hmm. Cope searched the page and found "It's your memory, you dope" in his own handwriting in the margin. Ahh. So, he needed a mystery ingredient to combine with the quintessence to counteract the symptom of memory loss. Memor... no! Don't forget. THINK. Memory. What improves memory??

Quickly, Cope dumped out his entire bag of potions ingredients, searching through for ANYTHING that would affect memory. Half of them were scooped back into the bag, and Cope was left sorting through some of the more exotic ingredients they seldom used in class.

He blinked. Whoa! Potions class. What were they doing in Potions class? And why was he holding feathers? Annnnd... ooooh. A simmering cauldron. He dropped the feathers one by one into the cauldron. CLEARLY that was what he was supposed to do, right? RIGHT?
"Good, Mr. Kettleburn. Keep focused on your brew, you are doing well." Kettleburn looked completely bewildered. He snickered to himself a bit, noticing Kettleburn's expression was not unlike the normal expression of their addle-minded Divinations professor. At least Kettleburn's condition was only temporary.

He was really in trouble. Probably she was not going to talk to him again even, he thought, his visual existence might disgust her after all those stuff. He sighed loudly when he was finished with his potion as well and he tried to keep his body still and his mouth shut as he felt the rush of anger coming back. ''Ehem, erm ehehe'' he stared back at Tori ''Sorry'' he coughed ''Professor, Professor!'' 'No you cannot yell at a professor, hold yourself boy!' ''I think i'm finished too''

Turning to her own potion, Destiny noticed it didn't have anymore boiling bubbles. Hurray! Destiny's potion was complete! 'What do I do now? She could ask Evelyn, but she probably wouldn't give her the right answer. Or she would tell her to boil her head in it. Yeah, Destiny will just ask the professor. 'Professor! What do we do when our potion is done?'
"Go ahead and perform the SpeRevelio charm to see if you correctly identified the ingredients in your potion, then. If you have, you may consume a draught of the antidote you created. Then we'll see if you are correct... or if you are doomed." Kazimeriz smiled wickedly.

"Five points to the first student who will correctly demonstrate the SpeRevelio charm for this young lady." Kazimeriz offered casually.

Kay asked picking up her wand again. She would make Marie do hers first. "Professor we are ready to do the SpeRevelio." Kay said with her hand up.
"Go ahead then, do not dilly dally!" Kazimeriz nodded to give her permission to proceed.

Poisoned cruddy.

Once the potion had simmered, Cope filled a phial and set it carefully on the desk beside him. "Sperevelio," Copernicus muttered. He read the revealed potion with great interest, but... he had no clue if that's what he made. He just... couldn't... remember.

"Professor, can I drink my..." Oh, Potions class!
"Indeed you may, Kettleburn. At for Merlin's sake I hope you stayed focused enough to brew correctly." Kazimeriz smirked as though he were extremely amused at the thought of his students' plight.

"Professor REALLY need some help." Kay said looking at Marie and hoped she didn't go any more nuttier.
"Yes, dear childe, how may I assist you?" Kazimeriz asked casually. He really was rather enjoying this class; it was both a potions lesson AND a defense lesson, when you stopped to think about it. Also, it gave him a small measure of satisfaction to note that Lawson had not truly taught them to be vigilant - the DADA professor should have cautioned them against absorbable poisons, certainly. He would have, were the position still his.

Didn't she know what she meant to him?

"I feel majorly unhappy," he admitted, as he rummaged through his ingredients, and came on a bit of pomegranate. That was it! The said ingredient was of good use in the Strengthening Solution, and he felt weak - rather wrecked - from tears and sadness, at the moment. Yes indeed, it would be of help, too, if descriptions were to be trusted.

"Lissy?" He looked up, and the anxiety in his tones was clear. "What symptoms do you have?" He really needed to know, if he was to help her find the mystery ingredients she needed. Bad, BAD poison!

"Do not despair, Mr. Balouch, you are doing well. Do endeavour to hurry, for class period is almost at an end." Kazimeriz said with an encouraging tone.
