Trying to push that thought from her mind and will herself to be in a better mood, the 15 year old pulled the boy attached to her hand inside the store and glanced around at the crowded shop. Being inside reminded her of the last time she was here with her and Nancy cleaning out the store's stock of their favorite sweets, giving her an idea. Christmas was coming up, maybe she'd get Nancy a large bar of Maple Fudge.

Leading Nathaniel by the hand, she wove through the crowd and stopped in front of the case of fudge. "Excuse me," she said slightly irritably to the back of the bundled up girl in her way, her voice coming out somewhat muffled from the scarf around her face.

Busy minding her own business, Sarah wasn't even aware the shop had gotten so crowded, or that she was in anyone's way, until a female voice sounded behind her.At least she thought it was a girl, it was slightly muffled, presumably from a scarf.Turning on the spot she smiled and stepped slightly to the side, eyeing the girl as she did so.....The eyes and hair looked familiar.And that was really the only bit she could see. "I'm sorry I didn't realise I..." Blinking a couple of times, Sarah's mouth dropped open when she finally figured out who it was.Of course the fact Nathaniel was attached to her hand was a bit of a giveaway.WAIT! They were holding hands?!

"Mariel?!" she giggled, looking into the not so happy eyes of her friend, who with the scarf looked distinctly like Nanook of the North. "Nate? You two....are holding hands...." She said it as if they wouldn't have already noticed.Could it be true? Could he have FINALLY told her his feelings? They might not have got off to the best of starts, but he did like Mariel, and so did she.If this made them happy then it made her happy. "It's about damn time!" she blurted grabbing them both in a hug. "When did this happen?......And what is with the moody face? I can see it in your eyes," she said, waving her hand in front of her own eyes to signal it.
