He picked up the yellow poppy first. Yellow poppies, he KNEW he had read over those...he placed the flower back down again. "Ok, erm, yellow poppies mean--oh! They mean wealth, and success. Does that mean you want to be really successful in life? And wealthy? Well, I could see you getting signed by a Quidditch team, no doubt about that," he said with a grin. "Maybe the Harpies? Sooo maybe you picked that because that's what you're longing to be once you graduate?" he suggested.
He picked up the lavender next. "Ok, I know this one--lavender is devotion, right? I guess that could apply to you with Quidditch AGAIN," he said with a small smile. Lately that was the only thing on his mind. Quidditch, Reese, and astronomy. In that order. "You're very devoted to your team, especially after your win last term, and you want to do everything you can to help them achieve success yet again." No need to add in the fact that Jack was going to do everything he could to try and stop that. Tee hee. It was all in good fun, though!
Jack looked down at the daisy and frowned. Ermmmmmm...he didn't know that one. He blinked at it for a good five minutes before shrugging. "I dunno what daisies mean. Did you pick it cause it's yellow like the other one?" he asked in confusion. There were two daisies on the list, which confused him--two different meanings. GAHHH!
Jack turned his attention to that tussle thingy and tried to figure out which flowers to pick for himself now that he had finished Kaika's flower reading. It was weird, trying to find flowers that corresponded with certain meanings. He looked at the meanings in his book before finally walking back to her and laying three flowers in front of her; A daffodil, a white poppy, and a hollyhock flower.
"Ok, go for it," he said with a grin.
Aha. Kaika watched as Jack made his way into flowerland, and took a parchment to write...er, whatever Professor Kapoor told them to...which was?
Oh, of course, if Jack got any flower right.
The yellow poppy. Success, yes but no. Wealth?
"That's another meaning of the flower, but wealth is not why I chose it...success on the other hand, that's a yes" but not precisely in that context....she'll explain later.
Quidditch?
"Aww, thank you...I don't think I'll follow that career path..but it's nice to know someone thinks I can" she said, with a nod. Being a Quidditch player just like her father was a major NO...for her.
She smiled and nodded. That one he got pretty right. And, yes, she'll make whatever is in her power to lead Hufflepuff into victory...because that would be awesome, right?
Kaika frowned,
"It's an oxeye daisy...it ain't yellow...maybe the yellow poppy messed with your eyes, because this one is white, well, it does have a yellow blot..." was that even important? No,
"...anyway...it means Patience" she nodded, now it was time to explain the selection...
"See, I chose the flowers, because when placed together they carry the meaning of a simple Quidditch formula..." she started, or at least the Hufflepuff Quidditch formula, anyway,
"...patience plus devotion equals success" she smiled,
"Easy" and true. Then she wrote 2 marks for the two flowers he got correct...or somewhat correct.
Now...oh, she had to do the same...er, okay.
For whatever the reason, Kaika took the daffodil first...eek! There was definitely a frown in her face, there were so many meanings for daffodils!
"Er, so...I'll pass this one..." she'll try to make it out after the other two....Hollyhock's time now,
"Ambition...so, there's something you want to achieve, right? And you'll go after it with everything you have" let's hope he's not talking Quidditch.
Another poppy, only this one was white,
"Okay...I'm not too sure...but white is Peace...though, I don't think that's what you meant...the flower also means Consolation or Dreams...I'm gonna go with Dreams? Because, we all have dreams to be fulfilled, no?" undecided, as always. It was a good thing she wasn't like that in the Pitch.
"You are a Gryffindor" she stated, much-too-sure of herself, even if it was pretty obvious that he
was a Gryffie, however, she was staring most intently at the daffodil,
"Of all the meanings this flower has, I choose either Chivalry or Uncertainty" a nod came to the brunette's head,
"Because...you may have doubts about the outcome of any situation...or you'll face it like a true Gryffindor" chivalrous, yes?
"Is it Chivalry? Because a Captain cannot be uncertain about anything" yeah, right, look who's talking.
