She took Adrienne's nosegay and studied it with interest. "Blue roses mean mystery and attaining what most people think is impossible; the unknown I guess." Mmmm sunflower. Celandine nuzzled the flower and continued. "Sunflower is for innocent thoughts, or admirable thoughts. Or sometimes thoughts of superiority I guess. Maybe even superiority of thought process." Celandine shrugged thoughtfully, "So that one kind of depends on the other meanings to be totally clear. And witch hazel means magic, or spells."
She laughed to herself and gave a little shrug, "So either you are thinking about spells that have to do with uncovering secrets or keeping them, or you are a mind reader!" Celandine laughed because it was funny. And because it didn't occur to her that Adrienne might actually be one. Adrienne grinned as Cela told her she'd gotten her interpretation right and gave her full marks for it. So one down, one to go. Now to see if she gets the meaning of my tussie mussie, she thought, continuing to smile a little at the quick glance at her shoes before Cela had taken the flowers. She was still curious about if the other Ravenclaw was going to figure out the exact meaning. But then, she couldn't say she was even certain all the professors even knew about her. Except for the headmaster, and she knew Professor Shackleton knew about it from her Arithmancy homework.
"Mmmmhm," she mumbled as Cela spoke. She certainly was getting the individual meanings pretty accurately, but that wasn't that strange, since they had the book to look at if they wanted. And it definitely showed that they were Ravenclaws, since Cela was getting into really thinking about the flowers. And the nuzzle of the sunflower was cute, in a way. She'd never really thought about nuzzling sunflowers, or pretty much any flower, really. She didn't get flowers very often, though, so maybe that was why. And as her housemate finished her interpretation with a laugh, an enigmatic smile crept onto her face. "Well, I definitely can't say you didn't get it right," she said, intentionally not revealing which one of her interpretations was the actual correct one. It didn't seem like Cela would react in quite the same way Torin had to finding out she could read minds, but she still was playing it safe. "Anyway, five points for you too," she said, letting her smile turn less mysterious. "So now we turn our results in to Professor Kapoor, right? Do you want to bring it up to him or shall I?" And really test to see if the professor's non-response to her shoes at the beginning of class was real or fake.
