Queen of Cupcaketopia: Cassirin Member of the Week: Cassirin Interviewer in green and Interviewee in Dark Red Shall we get right into it? or do you need me to introduce myself? Um… Who are you? The Inquisitor *shines spotlight on scary ministry chair with rattling chains* Have a seat. *pokes chair with a stick* Maybe I'll just stand up, thanks. aw… ruin all my fun. I like interrogating people; it's no fun if you can run away. Alright... I'm giving in to your appalling guilt-trip. *sits* *chains rattle malevolently* hehehe… Okay; enough of that nonsense; down to business… Bring it on, scary lady. How does it feel to be picked as motw? I am not worthy! I am not worthy! Actually, it feels nice. Can I wave to all my new fans yet? Um... I'm not sure if you have any yet. oh Maybe you should wait until the end; see if anyone likes you after you tell them stuff I'll just sit on my hands then/ *takes out notes*
You are part of SS Staff; what do you do? (I think that question should have come under the SS section. Oh well, whatever. ) I'm the DADA professor. I'm proud to say that I'm probably one of the few DADA profs who has lasted more than one term. lol Do you have anything to do with all the Auror-in-Training tags and avvies I've seen lately? Also, I just founded the Young Auror's Club this past term, which is a lot like the DA in OotP, except that I get to be bossy. hehehe oooh… you're psychic, aren't you? *nods* : shifty: Yeah, those tags are for people who fulfilled the requirements of that club. Basically, they had to attend and master a specific number of "lessons" to become Aurors-in-Training. Cool,
anything planned like that for next term? I'm hoping to continue with it, and I want to expand it a bit so that past Aurors-in-Training can still participate. I've enlisted a bit of help, though, because I might be a little more... busy next term Busy? SS related? *looks around shiftily* Maybe… Alright, alright... you wore me down! I'm the Ravenclaw Head of House next term. ooo… looking forward to it? Um.... YES! I'm very excited. *pets her 'Claws* I don't practice Divination, but I think we're going to have a GREAT term. We won the house cup the term I was House Ghost. Ouch. We'll never be the same without you, Kris. Now that we've heard a little about your life on SS, why don't you tell us a little about the real life you? Hmm... well, I'm 23. I graduated a little over a year ago from a very nice university in Ohio with a degree in Early Childhood Education and a teaching license. I love being an alumni .
I did some substitute teaching for a while, which was a NIGHTMARE, and now I work at a preschool. I teach 2 1/2 to 3-year-olds, which basically means my life revolves around playing, sleeping, and pottying. I can't believe potty is a part of my vocabulary again!
I also work at night in a bookstore as a sales clerk. Anything else? Um... I'd have more hobbies if I didn't work two jobs and have an unfortunate Internet and SS addiction. I'm an avid reader. I love music and movies. I'm very involved with my church, which takes up another few nights in my week... I love to sleep. But I never actually do that. Speaking of books and movies, which are your favorites? Well, I'm a huge Jane Austen fan... another wicked good British author. My time in college gave me a really unhealthy love of children's literature. I think I have over 200 children's books in my closet. Not much room for clothes.
As for movies, there's a great BBC/ A&E version of Pride and Prejudice starring Colin Firth. Its only a meager 6 hours long. I would marry Colin Firth if he wasn't about twice my age and already married... and unaware of my existence. *that was sad* lol *pets*
Do you have a secret talent? ummmm… I'm not telling. lol You have to, it's in the contract; didn't you read it? Show me! *points* I guess not. *squints* Fine print is a killer. FINE! good, I was afraid I'd have to strap you into the chair Have you seen that first Star Wars movie? With those guys with the jowly faces, who live underwater? The King or whatever of those guys does this thing where he like... shakes his face and makes this weird noise. I don't know if you have any idea what I'm talking about but, I can do that. WOW! Underwater or above? above water. I also have one elf ear but, that's not something I do. lol That's different; someone copied my secret talent. Oh no! Now you need to get a new one! Moving on...
Time for the good stuff: how did you first become interested in HP? I think we were visiting family for Christmas, and my cousin was reading the book. My family lives in Iowa, which is a lovely place to live but not so fun to visit... Anyway, my sister and I fought over who got to read the book, but she won. I'll probably hear from her later that I'm remembering all wrong, but by the time we got home from Iowa, she wanted to buy the books. And then... after reading them... so did I. Neato, more siblings sharing the love of HP. My brother thinks it's dumb but, he doesn't read so, that's an uninformed opinion if ever there was one. Anyway....
Who is your favorite character? That's so hard, because there are so many characters to love for different reasons. I think my favorite character is Ginny Weasley. I really enjoy her spunk, and I'm glad she finally came into her own in OotP. I also kind of understand her whole unrequited love thing from earlier in the series. So would you say she's also the character you relate most to? In a lot of ways, yes. I also related to Hermione, though, because I was such a brain in school. It formed my whole identity, and I was afraid of failing or appearing stupid. I think Hermione is more than her book-smarts, but she's hiding behind that and letting it define her. Am I thinking too hard about it? lol No, it's very nice. *bows* Thank you. philosophy; you should write a paper. Lol Well, its important to overanalyze works of fiction if you can. How about a role model from HP? Again, that's hard... how about I go for the unpredictable answer? sure I would say Fred and George Weasley. They knew who they were and they knew what they wanted out of life. They were willing to go to legnths to get there, and they didn't let themselves get confused by what other people expected of them. Plus, they knew that life is about living and that living is about joy and laughter. I don't think anyone could ever say that the Weasley twins didn't live life fully. Favorite quote? Oh, and me without my books. Let me think. lol okay I think I love the scene in OotP when Harry is talking about his first kiss with Cho. That whole interchange is so funny, but I love the dynamic between Ron and Hermione. Harry is worried that he is a bad kisser, and Hermione tells him, "Of course you aren't." I love jealous Ron who gets all, "How do you know that?" *laughs just thinking about it* Can you tell I don't have my books in front of me? lol lol
Which was your favorite book? PoA, for sure! I love plot twists. JK is queen of that, but I think PoA just kept me guessing. Plus, I have this weird brain and seeing the consequences of a time turner got me thinking in all sorts of crazy directions. So, I'm guessing PoA was also your favorite movie? So far. I think the cinematography was amazing. Even JK said that the director's vision in that movie matched her own in an eerie way at times. It was just... visually magnificent to me, I guess. Plus... the humor was spot on. So, we've talked about you, we've talked about your HP obsession, now it's time to talk about how your HP obsession brought you to SS... So, how DID you come across SS? *buries head in robe* I'm actually one of those people who came to SS through the Potter Project. I clicked on the Alivan's ad! *cries* And I STILL don't own a wand! Someone needs to buy you one.
What is your favorite part of SS? Well, I love to teach my class and be an active part of the school RP, and I admit that I've had my obsession with Zonko's and the Ch@. My current obsession is a couple of RPs that I have going with some friends in Salazar's Lair. We're a bit TOO dedicated at times, but I think those RPs are a bit brilliant at times. Its definitely improved my skills as a writer. Awesome. Can I wave yet? Um… sure *bounces and waves* Our previous Member of the Week, Kimstar18, would like to know: "If you could meet J.K. Rowling, what would you want to ask her, or talk about if you could ask her anything or talk to her about anything?" This might be the nerdiest answer ever but I think just sitting and talking about the most random things with JK would totally make my day. Its so apparent from her writing that she has a kind of random, sarcastic sense of humor and that's just my conversational speed. And, secretly, I think I would get the biggest kick out of being able to do or say something witty enough to make HER laugh too. Because I enjoy making people laugh or have a good time, and someone with such a finely honed sense of humor would be a real treat. And the final question: What question would you as our next Member of the Week? If you could be any Bertie Bott's bean, what flavor would you be and why? And if you HAVE to say something as pedestrian as chocolate or strawberry, you BETTER explain why. *is bossy today and has been recently compared to Hermione*
Stay tuned next week for another exciting Member of the Week! :sorcerer: |
