Eyes and face still rather blank, LouAnn blinked just once then turned towards the boy calling out to her. For a few seconds longer, she simply stared at him, then as if a light suddenly turned on inside her head, she came to and gasped, blinking several times in a row. Had she nearly blacked out

Twice. Twice, this had happened.
"Oh, hey, Rafe!" she greeted, shaking her head to indicate she didn't see anything interesting at all. To be honest, she hadn't remembered what she'd been doing a few seconds earlier. Why, she didn't know, but it did scare her a little. "Nothing at all. I don't know what we're supposed to be looking for either. Anyway, I haven't been up to much. Still just trying to adjust to the school. I heard you tried out for Quidditch. How's that going?" she replied.
