Curiously, she studied the exchange between Keltan and Jenn, and how odd it was. Kel's behavior towards Jenn was a considerably great deal different than his behavior towards her and Mariel. Unsure of what history the two had, Livvy just continued on watching the two, waiting for what would possibly happen next.
Kel's frown got a bit more noticable, but he looked away before - he hoped - Livvy could see it. He could tell that she meant business, and that she really didn't want to talk about it. So, he did what all guys in this situation would do. He changed the subject.

"Are you excited for this year? I think it's going to be a good year." This might just be his optimism talking, and the fact that the year hadn't started yet and he was practically drama-free. But whatever the reason, he was smiling a small smile and trying to get Livvy Livvyish again.

Not, that she was about to inform him that he had to smile a real smile, just so that she could look at it, cause one; the would be creepy. And two; she didn't need to look anymore crazy than what she was already was known for. "Ello Kel!"she said happily, giving him a quick hug before resuming eating her roll.

"How's that new broom working out for you, Liv?" she asked her Quidditch teamate. Then to the collective group, she slowly added, "Good summer, I hope?" Hm, maybe that wasn't the best question. For as much good as Mariel had over the summer, that much bad happened as well. The rest of the group could have felt the same way.
"Hey Jenn," Kel repeated, a bit more enthusiastically, Jenn's hug causing a real smile to spring onto his face. "How've you been?" Then, when he remembered that they'd talked on the train ride, he laughed quietly. "I mean...how was your ride up to the castle?" There we go.

When the headmaster was finished with his speech, Kel immediately started putting food on his plate. He wasn't even looking at what food he was planning on eating - as long as it looked and smelled good, it was going on his plate. What? He was a growing boy...he needed his nutrition. Hearing Mariel speak up, he looked over at her, pausing in his plate-piling so he didn't accidently put something on his plate that he really didn't want.

"My summer was good," he replied, nodding once. "I went to Jenn's for a while...and tried my best to ignore my parents while I was home." his tone was cheerful, something that it hardly ever was when he talked about his parents. He smiled briefly at Mariel before looking back over to Jenn, just in time to see Plymouth Morgan blow a kiss at, well, all the girls, and Jenn blow a kiss back at him. For some reason, this gave Kel a weird feeling. Of course he knew that Plymouth was just being...Plymouth, and he shouldn't be jealous or anything. But it wasn't that he was jealous that he blew the girls kisses, it was that he seemed so normal about it. Kel found himself thinking that he wished he could be as normal around girls as Plymouth was...although he had a feeling that he would never be as outgoing as the other boy.
