Lucky for her, she didn't even need to worry about that, for Sebastian had opened the door of the compartment and made his way inside. When Woodson remarked that this area was just fine, LouAnn glanced at him out the corner of her eye, smiled again, then followed his brother inside.
Woodson and Sebastian were mysterious, like puzzles just waiting to be figured out. Of all the friends she'd met in various places around the world, she'd never met anyone quite like the Whitcomb's. She wondered why they were so overly concerned with dirt, and why everyday things, like train compartments, were adequate to her yet so foreign to them. It didn't bother her. It just...intrigued her. "How are you used to traveling, then? I mean, I've just realized I don't know too much about you," she said to them. She hoped she wasn't offending them. They seemed so private and proper---people who might not appreciate questions being asked. "It's alright if you don't feel comfortable telling me, but...do you want a Jelly Slug?"
Sure, the question was a little abrupt, but she'd lost her nerve to ask about any additional details. She pulled open the bag of candy she had and held it open to the brothers. Surely they'd had candy before, right? I mean, every teenager liked Jelly Slugs...right? She pulled a napkin from her handbag and laid the bag of candy atop it on the seat next to her. If Woodson or Sebastian wanted any, they were more then free to get some. LouAnn knew they were verly cautious about things like that, though, and the last thing she wanted to do was offend her very first Hogwarts friend and his brother. "Do you think you'll enjoy Hogwarts any?" she asked. Quote:

So allowing them to walk by first then them simply because they were women was sexist too.
Oh yes, that theory fitted Sebastian just fine.
Getting a handkerchief from his pocket, he spread it on the seat next to the window and took a seat, hoping the piece of fabric would protect him a little bit against all of these germs and ... yuck.
Jelly Slugs? "Why would anyone want to eat slugs?" Sebastian asked, for once genuinely baffled. Curiosity getting the best out of him, the boy watched LouAnn's actions closely, deciding that those weird things she had placed on a napkin were some kind of candy. Sebastian wasn't big on candy, which would clearly explain why he knew nothing of Jelly slugs.
Confused, he looked over at Woodson. Had his brother heard of them? Maybe taste them? They didn't look that good, honestly. Quote:

He peeked his head round the corner and saw LouAnn and two boys. The boys looked almost the same. "Um hi LouAnn," he smiled, "Can I come sit with you? I was bored by myself." Woodson was quick on LouAnn's heels, following her inside the compartment and sliding the door closed before anyone else could rudely barge into him. People here clearly were lacking simple manners.
He'd forgotton how LouAnn loved to ask questions though - she'd done the same back in Diagon Alley - and he wasn't entirely sure how Sebastian would take to him telling the girl ... things. Copying his brother's actions, Woodson carefully laid out a handkerchief before perching himself atop it. "We just.. we travel by other means," the fifteen year old explained, avoiding Sebastian's gaze unsurely.
He was about to tell her that no, that doubted very muh he'd enjoy Hogwarts when he noticed ...
... Jelly slugs?
Pardon?
Woodson shrugged at Sebastian's questioning gaze. "I - I didn't realise... slugs were edible," he said, feeling slightly idiotic. Edible slugs? How absolutely absurd.
And who was this? Tearing his blue eyes from the napkin, Woodson eyed the boy that had entered the compartment. Apparently he knew Miss LouAnn? Hm.
