She watched as the trees zoomed past her and casually swept a loose strand of light brown hair from her eyes. This was certainly going to be a long ride back to Hogwarts.
She sighed. Hogwarts...home.. Since her first day of summer break she had wanted to return to her four poster and curl up, while the wonderful aroma from the kitchen perfumed the air in their common room and dorm rooms.
She closed her eyes and a slight smile played on her lips while she recalled vivid images of her common room...Cedric Diggory's twinkling eyes, the black and yellow decoration and the Badger emblem on much of the banners. Nancy was not in the best mood today. No, not at all. To be honest she was in quite a fowl mood as she had not yet seen her boyfriend today. Especially today! Today when there was so much she needed to talk to him about. Or how she should rather put it, today when he had so many questions to answer. Yes, this should be interesting...
And now she was here, on the Hogwarts Express, looking for an empty compartment, all on her own as neither Steven nor her black-and-white cat had accompanied her into the train. Steven because she had not yet found him, and Chis because she had simply left him at home. Who needed that black and white furball anyway?!
Either way, here she was, alone, not being very successful at finding what she was looking for. No, not Steven, but an empty compartment. As she passed a compartment at the back of the train, Nancy quickly glanced inside to see that it was only occupied by a girl who looked about her age. Furthermore, however, she looked familiar. Furrowing her brow slightly Nancy halted right in front of the compartment door trying to figure out who that girl was.
After a few moments of simply staring into the compartment she realized that she probably looked like a complete moron staring into an almost empty compartment without showing any signs of either entering or walking past. Clearing her throat Nancy therefore shoved the door open and took a quick step into the compartment, still gazing at the girl. "Hey. D'you mind if I sit with you? All the other compartments are full." Nancy asked even though the second part was not completely true, she hadn't exactly been looking for an empty compartment further down the train. She simply wanted to know how come she knew that girl. |
