Hannah had gotten pretty over the summer. Not that she wasn't always pretty, he had just...noticed now.
He accidentally let himself daydream while looking in her direction one day when Malfoy walked past, saying the first words he had heard him say to anyone all term, so insulting Neville came as more of a shock than usual.
"Why are you eyeing up Abbott, Longbottom? Don't you know she's half muggle?" he jeered as Crabbe and Goyle laughed. They walked out of sight.
Neville didn't care if she was half muggle. She was nice and...nice to look at too.
