Torin Kane....that boy who had a crush on her. Oh. No. Annie's face seemed to match the color of her hair suddenly when she realized that that boy was only sitting a few benches away. And with Reese too! Reese was her SOURCE! Must not make eye contact... must not encourage the boy... must... let him down... gently? Anastasia tried not to wince or let her smile falter as she nodded at Torin and then quickly turned back to Marcus.
"Axe, quick, hide me!" Bunbunz whispered urgently, folding her arms tight over her chest and leaning toward him. She peeked around the defense professor to see if Torin was still there, and seeing that he was, she sighed and almost stomped a foot.
Well, the foot stomp would have been appropriate now that her only source of chocolate was apparently under water. "Stupid flood," she growled, shaking her head. "You survived though, right? Poor chocolate."
Annie returned his look with one long scan of Marcus' appearance and a little smile. "You look all right, I'd say... and don't - UGH - don't bring up that boy." She scooted closer to Marcus and spoke just loud enough for him to hear. "After rescuing my shoes from my office.... he just, like, went NUTS! Ran into him at Hogsmeade.... then Miss Upstead there came to me and said he like liked me... I have no idea how to handle it, Marcus."
It wasn't that she minded the attention, exactly, it was that... it was the wrong sort of attention from the wrong person. He kept smiling and ignored her blush. 'You enjoying the game, Professor?" He was totally still talking to her when she didn't want him to. |
