I own nothing you recognise, that all belongs to the lovely J K Rowling.

Prologue, Bright Pink
Teddy felt that something strange was happening. Being nine months old, he couldn’t be completely sure. His room was filled with light, even though it had been very dark only moments before. What was happening?

Remus looked down at his tiny son, asleep in his mother’s arms. “He’ll be a great wizard.”
Tonks smiled. “With my looks and talent how can he be anything else?”
“Let’s just hope he’s got my sense of balance then” Remus replied mildly, lifting Teddy into his arms, breathing in his intoxicating smell. Gently he placed is son into the cot, kissing his forehead and covering him with a soft blanket. Together he and Tonks tiptoed to the door. There was a sticky moment when Tonks almost fell over her own feet, but Remus managed to steady her before she woke the slumbering boy. Staring hungrily back into the room, Remus snaked his hand around his wife’s waist and hugged her tightly. “When the war is over, I think Teddy should have a brother or sister to play with."
“Oh, you do, do you?” and although he wasn’t looking at her, Remus could tell she was grinning as widely as he was.

The light changed, rather than being all around him, it was focused into two small orbs next to his cot. One of them was pink and Teddy liked the colour so much his own hair turned that colour too. He reached out his fat little fists, trying to hold the light, but as he did the light faded and he started to cry with disappointment.
