Jack had been right--they WERE going to transfigure themselves today. EEEEE! This was exciting! He just hoped that he wouldn't mess up and end up with koala arms forever--that would make playing Quidditch incredibly difficult.
He raised his hand. "Well, an animangus can transform their entire body into the animal of their choosing, but it takes years and YEARS of practice to be able to do so. Also, you have to register with the Ministry, I think, and let them know what animal you're able to change into. I can't remember if you have to have your wand ON you to transform, but no incanation needs to be cast for them to transfigure--they can do it whenever they please." he explained.
