Elizabeth looked over as someone else came up to the table, and saw William sit down. "Hey William," she said, after swallowing the bite of toast she had taken. She couldn't quite figure out why he didn't seem to care about the flooding, but then he was a boy. And a young one at that. And when she saw what he had been carrying, she understood even more. "Someone send you a birthday cake?," she asked, settling in a little more comfortably on the bench even though she still kept her legs curled underneath her to stay out of the water.
