"It was probably those pesky stairs, right? Always moving around on you!" Katie shook her head, mock disappointment in the enchanted staircases. She was sure they had to have a mind of their own, some charmed pranksters mind. Why else would it switch directions when you're trying to get to the place it moved from? Definitely mischievous.
Waving a small hand about, the young girl introduced herself, "Hi Laura, I'm Katie. And this is.." What was his name again? "Jack!" She exclaimed excitedly, gestured to the older boy she stood by. "It must be! The Gryffindor's room is up here too, so.. maybe thay way," Katie pointed to the left corridor, glancing down it briefly, and then to her right, "Or that way." Shrug. In all truth, she had no idea.
Laura smiled back at Katie. "I'm sure it was those staircases. I stepped on one to go up to the Common Room, and ended up here! It's all so confusing.." Laura trailed off, almost laughing, but at the same time shaking her head. It was a wonder none of the older students had these problems! Then again, they'd been at Hogwarts longer that she had!
"Nice to meet you, Katie," she said, also inclining her head at Jack. "Well, I have no idea which way to go, but I have to go someway! Maybe I'll see you around!" Turning to go down the left passage, Laura waved. "Bye," she called.
