Well, not yet. Until he felt an unnatural tug on his robes and then the thunk of Jacob falling back to the ground. For a talented quidditch player, Jake was sure clumsy too. "Um..." Wait, what should one do after yelping ouch? Biting his lower lip, he watched the second year and took a deep breath, unsure of his next words. "Technically, I don't care for the physics of you stumbling and falling, because you were evidently not paying attention to your path in front of you. Thereby your vision was obstructed and you were unable to see the fact that I was sitting here, nor were you able to control your speed enough to stop before colliding into me. Thus bringing you to the floor." He ranted on his own explanation for why this was all the second year's fault. Though it was a stupid argument regardless.
Oh. Whining and pleading tone. Sigh. Kayla had told him to be nice to the first years, but never once mentioned of looking out for Jacob. But it was Jacob's fault to begin with; "Hmm..." Dominic murmured thoughtfully. "I could help you, yes. But the should is the real question. Give me a reason or two for why I should and then I'll consider it. Make it good. Worthy." What was this guy going on about? "Huh?" Jake murmured absent-mindedly, glancing up at the boy. Something about physics and... well, he lost the rest of it. "Yeah, sure, whatever, dude," he shook his head like a dog ridding his ears of water. "You shouldn't be so... in an area... where... oh, I give up," Jake sighed, admitting defeat.
But he still had something left in him.
Crossing his legs where he was sat on the floor, Jake folded his arms across his chest. "Actually, I think you'll find that would is the question," he smirked, conveniently forgetting the fact that he was correcting himself. Grrrrr. "Aaaaaaaand... you are in a position of responsibility, Mister Denton, with a duty to help others. Especially members of your house. The younger ones. Who you like. Yeah, you can't hate me, you know you want to help me," Jake grinned a little cheekily. "Aaaaaaaaaaand," he intoned again. "I do have an awfully good shreiking voice... and I can make it reeeeeeally convincing that the big mean prefect is neglecting the poor, pink-haired twelve-year-old."
Ahem...
Yeah, living with a Slytherin tends to give you evil habits. Quote:

And then Jake remembered. The memories of Jack, especially, came flooding back. First the fear, and then the part where they became friends... and then... when he found out.
Of course, he didn't mention it, but swallowed hard and nodded to the Professor. "Sir," he said in a choked voice. "How was your..." summer "... day?"
Day?
Pleeeease. At least now I remember... I need to see Kazi-man.
