Normally he would be shy, but as he barely knew anyone he turned to the people beside him and said, "is the Hufflepuff table always this empty?"
Sarah pushed open the door to the Great Hall and looked around. Not as many people as she thought there would be.
I can't be early,surely.
Smoothing out her robes, which had become creased from being stored in her trunk since being washed, she marched over to the Hufflepuff table.
Glancing around at the people already there she realised that the only ones she recognised were a couple of the older girls..and they were busy talking to each other.Everyone else was either new to Hogwarts or just to her.
Sighing she decided that she would at least sit near someone in the hope of getting a conversation started.
Clambering into a seat next to a boy that looked slightly older than her,Sarah smiled, hoping that he wouldn't mind her presence. Then he spoke.Maybe not to her directly but Sarah decided to answer him anyway as no-one else seemed to be about to.
"It can be yeah, especially early on.Have you not sat here before then?" she asked, somewhat confused.
