Braendam House in Stirling, Scotland was
facing the prospect of closure up until a recent undisclosed donation from J.K. Rowling's
Volant Charitable Trust, a fund set up by the author to aid charitable causes.
The home offers up free holidays to poor families from Glasgow. The Lilias Graham Trust had previously issued redundancy notices as bookings for the establishment dried up.

Cath Morrison, chief executive of the Lilias Graham Trust, said the new money would keep the charity going until at least next March.
She said: "It is fantastic news. It was like TV's The Secret Millionaire."
