Kazimeriz's countenance faltered from his stoic expression momentarily at this comment, his face tightening up. He could not deny that the boy was right, his pride and honor
had caused him to fail. However... bad enough that the boy had shattered his hip, was it necessary to try to shatter the last remnants of an old man's dignity, too? And in front of students, no less.

No his honour wouldn't have stood for that, and likely Kazimeriz still would have taken issue and challenged him anyway.
The anger was still simmering away just barely contained under the surface of a barely patched together, mild mannered facade. How much of him had been moulded by Kazimeriz? Certainly all of the foundations in his dueling technique and ability had been influenced by the old man, but how much of it had been just Zan? "You share in this victory sir, you taught me everything I know, after all."
"And yet I failed to teach you how to win with grace and honor, and therefore failed you as a professor." Kazimeriz said in a clipped voice, turning from Truebridge. He walked from the arena, his back straight and his face once again composed despite the truly terrible pain.
