Celandine burst through the door at such a speed that it threw her forward, halfway across the frosty floor. She skidded to a stop, panting slightly, but the euphoria from making it past the falling things and retaining her footing started to ebb away. She looked back at the door she had come through for a brief moment before looking around warily, not aware of the dementor which had glided up behind her. Something inside her twitched and ordered her to move, sounding much like one of her brothers. Celandine did move, she threw herself to the frost covered floor and rolled.
As she looked up she gasped audibly. A dementor! It was draining and mournful and empty... and yet the sensation wasn't completely foreign to Celandine. And she knew what she had to do, she knew she could cast a patronus. And part of her knew also that she wouldn't be in any real danger. Kazimeriz would be there in an instant if anything went wrong.
So Cela lay there, waiting, gathering her happy memories, sorting through each one and examining them critically, while the dementor slowly began to close on her, reaching its talon-like bone fingers out towards her.
... Caramel...
"Expecto Patronum!"
Cela didn't even need to think about the wand movement, it had just happened by instinct, a controlled little 'e' shape. The scorpion patronus was blindingly bright, more white than blue and it hit the dementor full on in the chest. Cela got to her feet slowly and backed toward the next door, twisting at the last moment to escape through it, shutting it behind her with a bang.
