ll Achmed's 2nd Keeper ll Team Jacob l l Otaku ll Thud. Sam got to his feet shakily, the ice on the floor almost burning the skin on his hands. He stared at the sign, shivering slightly. This was the final exam? Only now? He would have fainted if it wasn't so cold on the floor. Sam gripped his wand, a peculiar dread forming in the pit of his stomach. Sam frowned; sure, he got exam nerves, but this? He'd never felt so...hopeless.
He walked into the room, his dread building steadily. If only it wasn't so cold...Why was it so cold? Sam gasped, his eyes wide and fearful. Dementor. He was going to die. Oddly, this thought brought with it another, one more motivational. Not without a fight. This was Sam's chance to prove himself. He'd failed to really get going with the lethifold, and now he had a dementor in front of him. He could do it...hopefully.
As the dementor glided forward on the icy floor, Sam's mind went blank again. He could feel the dread and fear capturing him again. "No..." he managed to choke out, holding his wand out in front of him meekly. A flicker of an image flitted across Sam's eyes. It was enough to get his head working. Sam held the picture in his mind. It was Aurora again, smiling at him, laughing. She was just so beautiful...
Sam made a small, inclined motion with his wand before rolling his wrist to produce the 'e'. "Expecto patronum!" he shouted clearly on the downward motion. A bright falcon erupted from the tip of his wand and dived toward the approaching dementor. Sam concentrated on that image of Aurora, her hair, her eyes, the green stripe through her locks. The dementor faltered. Sam's falcon dove straight for the hooded head of the dementor. It fled. As it did so, Sam felt an enormous relief. He didn't want his falcon to leave, and so he held onto the memory of Aurora even as he walked through the end door. |
