Kayla stepped through the next door and immediately felt the freezing cold and she shivered slightly. The dark was penetrating her every senses and she could feel the despair wash over her as she tried to catch her breath. Dementor/s was her first and only thought as the cold started to seep into her skin and the misery fill her mind.

She raised her wand and thought about her happy memory the one that could always help her to cast a brilliant patronus. She thought of him and those three words she had heard him say and she let the memory of that day fill her whole entire body and immediately she began to relax. Kayla tilted her wand downward slightly toward the dementor that was starting to glide toward her and then she looped her wand making a small 'e' shape and as she brought her wand down, she said the incantation. "Expecto Patronum."

Her bear patronus shot from her wand and he was so bright, she had never seen him this bright before. Kayla held her wand steady and urged her bear towards the dementor, feeling so much better that he was here with her. She tilted her wand upwards slightly and brought him up onto his hind legs as he continued towards the dementor. The light from her patronus filled the whole room and the dementor fled back to its dark corner away from the light of her patronus. Kayla kept him with her until she reached the next door.
