He huffed as he sat up, dirt covering his upper body and face as he shook some of it out of his hair.
He sniffled as he touched the cut on his face. "I'm not crying." he sniffled a traitor tear falling from his cheek. He wiped it away hastily as she took out a tissue and dabbed his face. He scowled at the whole situation and blinked dort out of his eyes. that did hurt. "Like I was trying to say, I didn't mean to throw it in your face. I have bad aim." he said, looking at her while he got his composure back.
He did look a bit funny soaking wet and then covered in dirt, but she didn't have the urge to laugh as she saw his face all cut up and tears streaked. Oh for pity's sake! Didn't any of the boys around here have backbones. Now she had to feel bad for beating up a boy that threw dirt in her face. Where was the justice in the world.
She looked at him as he denied that he was crying. She rolled her eyes, boys, she sighed.
"Ok you aren't crying then," She said gently. She gently wiped the trickle of blood that had started to roll down his face. She started wiping hte dirt of his face as well. Now that she had made him cry she didn't feel so big and bad anymore. She felt like a right jerk for beating up a little kid.
"Alright and I'm sorry for dumping water all over you." She wouldn't admit she did it on purpose but she would apologize for dumping the water and soaking him to the bone.
