Is that a big gash/scratch/scar over his chest? Maybe that's supposed to be from when he was infected with lycanthropy? I don't think it was mentioned in the books if he was born a werewolf or became one.

Thats truly what I wanted to say ... am not sure whether it was mentioned in the book ... but something inside tells me he could be a born werewolf!
