The professor pushed the stable doors open and without any prompting, Calpurnia cantered out to the yard, holding her head up proudly so the students could see how exquisite she actually was. Iliana rolled her eyes slightly as she closed the doors and followed behind with Kimber.
Slowly, she led the unicorns through the gate and brought them in front of her eager students. "Yes, yes, yes. We all are quite impressed with you," she announced sarcastically. Standing in between both unicorns, Iliana called for the class' attention. "Okay now, gather round. I want you to form two separate single file lines for me. In front of Calpurnia, I want all of the girls. And boys… you're here in front of Kimber. You are each going to slowly approach your unicorn, one at a time and offer her your hand, palm-side down. If she likes you, she will bow her head slightly and allow you touch her. You may choose to brush her, pet her or simply tell her a little about yourself. When you're finished, please step aside for the next student."
"Now before you begin, please keep one thing in mind. Unicorns a gentle, docile creatures, but that should not fool anyone into thinking that they can't be aggressive. So let"s keep our heads out here and remember what I said before. Remain calm and call me if you have a problem."
"Oh and I almost forgot. Professor Truebridge has asked for a favor. It seems his little Chihuahua puppy is in need of a name. So, please give me some doggy name suggestions for him while you wait your turn. Then at the end of class, we will take a vote.
