Rowena stared out of the window of her office, reliving the unbidden memory. She recalled how she and Helga, two childhood friends, had met Godric and Salazar so many years ago.

The two young witches had been at some Ministry Gala or other with their parents.

And then, chaos broke out as a huge serpent snaked into the room, having escaped from the Ministry Beast section. Rowena refused to consider what could have happened had a dark haired young wizard not stepped forward at that moment, speaking the language of snakes and commanding it to withdraw.
