Marina moved her wand exactly as it was described in the book and said "Protego!", but the fact that she was coverng her face with her left arm at the same time, showed plainly that she did not have too much confidence in her own Shield Charm, and consequently it was a feeble shield that was gone within a second. She used both arms and no magic now to prevent the acorns hitting her face.
