"Is it great?" Celandine asked somewhat doubtfully, gesturing at the Clerk to give the bag of ribbon to Daphne when she had finished. Cela listened to Daphne's advice and repeated, "Addictions aren't healthy," weighting the words as if they were a mantra. "But... by research... you mean too much kissing or asking all of Nicholai's friends?"
Socially inexperienced as she was, Daphne knew it would be improper to explode into an emotional bio bomb at this moment. Especially if she took into consideration that, of the few people she had managed to acknowledge Celandine was even one of the fewer she could call friend. A friend despite all her short comings.
Instead, Miss Hopton shut her eyes briefly and imagined a small pink box in the middle of an empty field in spring. Flagrant flowers in bloom in every corner, mystical baby unicorns prancing alongside their horsey cousins and brothers and sisters....only....for the box to blow up so epically, that all Daphne could see was a giant hot pink cloud of hormones.
Opening her eyes, Daphne was stunned to find herself still in front of a talking Celandine.
"Oh," interjected the girl dumbly before catching her step and finding her place once more into the conversation. "Thank you," mumbled Daphne to the clerk taking the bag and turning to begin walking towards the door. "I mean!" began Daphne loudly as her shoulders twitched.
Breathe, she told herself taking another step. "Precisely, that...the kissing. You must be careful with it. Too much is just as bad as too little, at least that's what Davis always says." Except, Daphne was pretty sure Davis wasn't thinking about kisses whenever he uttered that. "And as for asking Nicholai's friennnndsss," drawled the blond holding the door open for Celandine. "I don't think that's such a good idea."
