Chapter Forty – Three
He stood in the kitchen taking in his surroundings and felt for once glad to be there. He walked up the stairs looking at the wall paper to be taken down and replaced the pictures to be removed and even walls to knock out if they could. He made his way to what was his room and threw his bag inside. And put Hedwig’s cage on the cupboard in the room next door, it would be easier for her to hunt then. They would need supplies, and new furnishings but something’s could wait until he had completely finished school. He turned around heading back down the corridor and hallways checking out all the other rooms but avoiding Sirius’ completely, he wasn’t going to go in there again, not yet.
He grabbed a towel from his bag and headed to the bathroom. He smiled testing the water with his hand, as old as the house was the plumbing still worked. He came out feeling better and dressed thinking over Ron and Hermione, and what Hermione would say about them fighting if Ron bothered to tell her. Knowing Ron would rather keep his paranoia to himself and that Hermione wouldn’t know unless Ginny told her, and she probably would, wasn’t helping him.
He grabbed a piece of parchment and quill and wrote to her,
“Dear Hermione,
Hope you’re having a great time back at home. Just wanted to let you know, unless Ron’s told you already, we had another fight. We’re not talking and Ron is just as paranoid as before. I’m at Grimmald place now, and keeping busy. Gin’s at the burrow and no doubt she’ll write and tell you how stupid we both are for fighting. I’ll see you at Christmas, tell your parents there invited in case I haven’t said it already, Bye Harry.
He got Hedwig from her cage and sent her off with the letter, and then grabbed his wand and made a start on the work ahead.

It had been a few hours and he had called Kreacher to help out. They had nearly finished cleaning the drawing room when the fire place glowed green and people began stepping out.
“Wotcher Harry”
“Tonks” he smiled giving her a quick hug as Lupin and Ginny followed.
“Come into the kitchen, Kreacher’s just made some tea” Said Harry leading them through and sitting at the table.
“So…”
“Harry, Tonks and I have some news” Said Lupin smiling but looking nervous all the same,
“We were going to tell you earlier but then the whole thing at Malfoy Manor and you’re going to get Ginny… well it got pushed to one side but we’re here to tell you now”
“Tell me what?” Harry knew but he didn’t want to spoil it for them, they looked so happy,
“We’re going to have a baby” said Tonks grinning
“Wow, that’s brilliant, congratulations” he grinned as Ginny hugged Tonks and Lupin,
“Have you told the order?”
“Yes, well I had to because of work” Tonks smiled “That’s why I didn’t go to the manor, they wouldn’t let me and neither would Remus of course” she nudged him with her elbow.
“So you and Professor Jacobs are pregnant together” said Harry
“Yes” said Tonks but something told Harry she didn’t think much of Willow so he didn’t mention it again.

It was eight o’clock in the evening and Harry and Ginny finally sat down at the kitchen table. Lupin and Tonks had left hours earlier and they had finished cleaning the drawing room, dinning room, studies and three bedrooms ready to be painted wallpapered and decorated for Christmas.
Kreacher laid out two plates of food in front of them and left as they started to eat.
“So Harry, what’s next on the list?”
He laughed and replied “Right now sleep, then painting and decorating and we have to get a Christmas tree”
“Sleep sounds fantastic” she grinned swallowing the last of her food, and propping her head up on her hand to look at him. He leaned over and kissed her softly and she placed her arms round his neck deepening the kiss and relaxing in his arms. He lifted her up with him ignoring the pressure on his bruised chest as he carried her into the living room.
He sat down on the couch Ginny on his lap as he kissed her again. She broke away smiling, “I should go home before I get you in trouble”
“You should” he smiled and kissed her again and she didn’t resist and this time her hands moved down his chest pulling his t –shirt over his head.
“You said you were going?”
“I changed my mind” she grinned kissing him passionately “I want to stay here tonight”
“I think that’s a brilliant idea” he laughed returning the kiss and pulling off her t shirt, his hands roaming over her silky skin as she pulled him closer to her. She got up moments later and held out her hand to him, “Harry, will you show me your room?” he stood up and took her hand smiling.
She walked out of the room pulling him with her to the staircase. He followed entranced completely by the way she was in control and the way her body moved as she walked up the stairs.
They approached the door and she turned to face him. She stood still looking into his eyes and ran a hand down his chest, over the bruise, the cuts and scars. “You fought for all of us” she whispered her eyes moving from his to look at his battered body,
“But mostly for you”
“I love you Harry”
“I love you Gin”
She tiptoed up and kissed him he held her with one arm and opened the door with the other. She wrapped her arms round his neck once again letting him carry her inside and close the door with his foot.
