Renowned American author Stephen King
discussed his opinions on contemporary writers recently, praising
Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling for her literary work. When asked if his success helped pave the way for other highly successful authors like Jo and Stephenie Meyer (of the
Twilight series), Stephen stated he knew that Jo read his stories when she was younger and he believed it influenced her as a writer.

I think that I serve that purpose for some writers, and that’s a good thing. Both Rowling and Meyer, they’re speaking directly to young people. ... The real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer can’t write worth a darn.
