Kayla merely acknowledged Cela with a nod of her head. The girl didn't care about what was going on and so Kayla felt no need to address her, she had left the owlery anyway, so really there was no point.

Of course, Mari still couldn't make up her mind and decide whether knowing Nico had been a positive or negative influence in her life, at most times it was both, oddly enough. " I understand what you're saying," She said, and then she actually smiled slightly at Kayla's next words. " Yes, it's quite true that we will never be best friends." She paused and looked away for a moment before she looked back at Kayla again. " Thank you though, for at least being willing to put it behind us, in the past. " She said honestly, albeit slightly grudgingly.
